GLOBE, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s still a long road to recovery, but some sense of normalcy has returned to an east Arizona community once ravaged by severe flooding.

“Globe is getting cleaned up pretty good there’s still a few business that need help but as fast as downtown the streets are looking by a lot better,” said Angel Ruiz, the executive director for the Miami-Globe Chamber of Commerce.

While cleanup continues over a week later, Ruiz and Cecile Hudson with the chamber tell Arizona’s Family that most of the more than a dozen businesses hit hard by the flooding are back open. The only exception is a few downtown.

“They got severe flood damage, a lot of water damage, some of them lost their tools, walls had been blown out,” said Hudson.
