LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - Ten years ago, historic floodwaters swept across the Midlands, swallowing neighborhoods, destroying businesses and changing lives forever. But out of the devastation came stories of resilience and hope.

The day began like any other for Lexington County Fire Service Captains Casey Strock and Jeremy Inman. “So, we came in that morning at 7,” Strock said. “And throughout the day, bright blue skies, nothing really was happening.”

What started as a routine shift quickly turned into a disaster that would be forever etched in their minds. “And we were supposed to get off the next morning at 7 o’clock,” Strock said. “We did not get off the next morning at 7.”
