Director Vetrimaaran’s highly anticipated action thriller starring Simbu has officially been titled Arasan, its producers confirmed on Tuesday. The announcement was made by Kalaipuli S. Thanu, head of V Creations, who shared the news along with the film’s first poster on his Instagram account.

Thanu wrote in Tamil, “Aalapirandha Arasan, Vetriyudan Silambarasan. #VetriMaaran @SilambarasanTR_ #STR49 #SilambarasanTR #VCreations47 #ARASAN. (The king who was born to rule! Victorious Silambarasan!)."

The poster accompanying the announcement depicts a man holding a machete, with his hand resting on a bicycle carrier, giving audiences a first glimpse of the film’s gritty tone.
