SPOKANE, Wash. – A small fire broke out at Franks Diner in downtown Spokane but was quickly contained to the kitchen.

The fire started around 7:30 p.m. It was identified as a grease fire originating in the range hood.

Several customers were present in the diner when the fire broke out. One customer shared their experience.

“And next thing you know, the waiter comes by and says ‘hey – you guys have to get out of here, there’s a fire.’ And I looked at the table, and I was like, is this guy serious? I’ve got a lemonade in my hand. And next thing you know, there’s smoke showing. And you know, we get out and he was like hey we’ve got to get far away. Far away.”

No injuries were reported.
