New Delhi, Oct 07: Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari announced that electric vehicle (EV) prices in India are expected to match those of petrol vehicles within four to six months, as part of efforts to promote clean mobility.
He highlighted the economic and environmental need for this shift, given India’s significant fuel import bill of Rs 22 lakh crore. Gadkari aims to make India’s automobile industry the largest globally in five years, growing from Rs 14 lakh crore to its current Rs 22 lakh crore.
