A mum has hit out at a "ridiculous" policy at her daughter's school after the teen was suspended for four days. Despite 13-year-old Izobella Dawson donning "invisible" earrings to conceal her piercings, Kirk Balk Academy in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, ruled that she had violated its " no jewellery" policy . ‌

However, her mum Rachel, 42, argued that the retainers were barely noticeable and are commonly marketed as a means of "disguising" piercings. ‌
