Seniors set up powerful Sunrise Mountain attack

It took three years for the four foundation pieces for Sunrise Mountain to fall into place.

Once outside hitters Addison Wiemann and Brooklyn Jenkins arrived to complement setter Lily Rolfes and libero Kami Milner, everything clicked. And the Mustangs, almost instantly, were 5A title contenders.

Sunrise Mountain pushed three-time defending champion Phoenix Horizon in the 2024 5A title game, but the Huskies won 21-25, 25-23, 25-23, 28-26. Now all four cornerstones are back for their senior year with an all or nothing mentality while being treated like the 5A favorite.
