The retail sales for passenger vehicles posted a 5.8 per cent spike to 2,99,369 units in September driven by the GST 2.0 reforms and Navratri festivities.

According to data shared by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (Fada), the two-wheelers, tractors, and commercial vehicles were also up by 6.5 per cent, 3.6 per cent, and 2.6 per cent, respectively.

Three-wheelers and construction equipment recorded a decline of 7.2 per cent and 19 per cent, the data said.

Notably, the overall automobile retail sales were up 5.2 per cent compared to the same month in 2024.
