NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – North Charleston Police are inviting residents to join them for food, music and community building at a National Night Out block party Tuesday in Park Circle.

The nationwide campaign aims to bring neighbors and law enforcement together to build trust and strengthen community bonds. Tuesday’s event comes as North Charleston has recorded 550 violent crimes from January through August of this year, according to the city’s website. This statistic marks progress, as the department has seen a 12% decrease in violent crimes and a 10% decrease in overall crimes from August 2024 to August 2025.
