October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, a time when we hear a lot about women over 40 getting their annual mammogram, football players wear pink shoes, we see special clothing in stores, commercials highlight what we need to know, and many local events aim to support survivors and their families. I am a two-time breast cancer survivor facing my third bout with this disease, and over the next four weeks I will share my journey with you to dispel fear and give hope.
