BISMARCK, N.D. (KFYR) - October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Western Plains Public Health is doing everything it can to keep women up to date on breast cancer screenings.
The organization emphasizes that early detection saves lives and helps with patient navigation and transportation. The agency helps pay for cervical and breast cancer screenings for women in need.
“Don’t wait. Make your health a priority this October. Make sure that you’re getting your mammogram scheduled. Talk to your doctor about it. You know, talk to other women in your life to make sure that they’re getting screened,” said Jade Ross, Women’s Way coordinator at Western Plains Public Health.
This month, the organization will be running mammogram marathons and fundraising activities. More information is avail
