The newest justice on the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia was formally sworn in Monday afternoon at the state Capitol, in Charleston.
Justice Thomas H. Ewing, a former Fayette County Circuit Court judge, was appointed in August by Gov. Patrick Morrisey to fill the vacant seat of retired Justice Beth Walker. Legal Affairs

Ewing was officially sworn in during a private ceremony on Aug. 27.
As a circuit judge, Ewing started the Fayette County Family Treatment Court. Since 2019, he has served on the Mountain State's Juvenile Justice Commission, which reviews juvenile justice facilities, programs and needs.
