Full diversion details have been confirmed as the A228 Snodland Bypass could remain closed for a total of nine days due to a serious gas leak.

The leak was first reported on Sunday, October 5 and has forced the busy A-road to close in both directions between Ham Hill and Brook Street.

Specialist crews from SGN are at the scene completing the complicated repair works, which will require a failed section of pipeline to be replaced.

Kent County Council’s Highways department has confirmed that this road closure could remain in effect for up to nine days in total, meaning it may be in place until Monday, October 13.
