MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Some citizens are concerned about the health and safety of their loved ones inside 201 Poplar, especially after reports of overcrowding in an already strained jailhouse.
This comes after an announcement of over 200 arrests made within the Memphis Safe Task Force.
Several people took a trip down to 201 Poplar Monday morning to either check on their loved ones or pay for them to be released from jail.
This comes after U.S. Attorney Pam Bondi announced nearly 300 arrests were made since the Memphis Safe Task Force began its operation last week.
Some citizens believe more money should go toward initiatives community centers and job training, not cops and jailhouses.
