The owners of a four-store chain grocery store in metro Detroit announced it is closing a location.
Hollywood Markets in Troy is closing after facing “intense competition,” according to a Facebook post. The Troy location was built in 1966, and according to Hollywood Markets' website, the store opened in 1967 on Maple Road.
An employee who answered the phone at the Troy store told the Free Press that no specific closure date was given, and the owners were not in.
The Welch Family announced the Troy location closure in a Facebook post addressed to its “incredible customers and the Troy community.”
“It is with great sadness that we announce the closing of our Troy location. … “Unfortunately, with the retail climate and intense competition surrounding this store, we have made the difficult
