A band of thunderstorms is slowly moving across the southern Lower Peninsula, producing heavy rain along its path on Tuesday, Oct. 7, could impact the Detroit Tigers playoff baseball game later today.

" There is a chance of thunderstorms today , mainly this morning and early this afternoon. Locally heavy rain will be possible with any thunderstorm that develops. Storm motion will be southwest to northeast at 35 mph," the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids said.

In southeast Michigan, there is a chance of thunderstorms today, mainly in the morning and early afternoon, the Detroit weather office said. The storms are moving along the front to the northeast at about 35 mph, the NWS said.
