FRANKFORT, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police are investigating threats made to Kentucky Parole Board members following the spread of "inaccurate information" regarding the release of inmate Ronald Exantus .
Exantus was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2018 after being found not guilty by reason of insanity in the killing of 6-year-old Logan Tipton during a random home invasion in Versailles. Authorities said Exantus fatally stabbed the child and injured several members of the Tipton family before being subdued.
The Parole Board unanimously voted for Exantus to remain in prison, yet members have received repeated threats from the public.
