At a time when protecting queer and trans mental health feels especially vital, a new therapy practice has opened in Philadelphia: The Open Studio Cooperative (TOSC).

This worker-owned therapy cooperative prioritizes trauma-sensitive, equitable, affirming and culturally competent care. Among the services TOSC provides are adult individual therapy and letters of support for gender affirming surgery.

Miller Potoma, a member-owner at TOSC, shared that this cooperative is a direct response to the current attack on trans and queer rights in the United States.

According to Potoma, the mission of TOSC is “to provide a fortress of affirming, inclusive and accessible mental health care for our LGBTQ+ communities.”
