The Kerala High Court has constituted an SIT in the case of gold theft from Sabarimala Temple.

The Kerala High Court has expressed concern over the alleged theft of gold from the idols of two gatekeepers of the Sabarimala temple. During the hearing on Monday, the High Court said that the email sent by the main accused in the case, Unnikrishnan Potty, to the Travancore Devaswom Board (TDB), shows that all is not well within the TDB.

During the hearing, the High Court referred to the email sent by Potty, a gold plating expert, to the TDB Chairman. In it, he had written that after gold plating the main gate of the Sreekovil and the idols of gatekeepers, he had some gold left, which he wanted to use for the marriage of a needy girl with the help of the TDB.
