SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Samantha Meyer-Davis, 32 from Rutland, was sentenced Monday in federal court for sexually exploiting a child. The former middle school teacher pleaded guilty on April 30. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Iowa says from May 2022 to November 2023, Meyer-Davis exploited a student and shared obscene materials with the victim. Despite being warned by school administrators, she denied the relationship until confronted with incriminating photos. Federal investigators say over 130 photographs and 60 videos, including child pornography, were exchanged. Judge Leonard T. Strand presided over the sentencing. Judge Strand said, as a teacher, in a position of trust, Meyer-Davis was “every parent’s worst nightmare when sending kids to school”
