2Gunfire erupts on US-13 as moving car targeted in Laurel drive-by shooting

Laurel, DE – A quiet early morning drive turned violent Sunday when shots rang out from one car into another along US-13, sending investigators scrambling to track down a gunman who opened fire from a moving vehicle just outside Laurel.

Delaware State Police said the shooting happened just after 2 a.m. as a blue Toyota Camry traveled northbound in the left lane of US-13 between Delmar and Laurel. Beside it in the right lane, a silver Chrysler sedan pulled up — and without warning, the driver fired several rounds toward the passenger side of the Toyota before speeding off toward Scarborough Lane.

Miraculously, no one was hurt despite the Toyota being struck by bullets. The gunman, described only as a Black male,
