Baltimore, MD – A weeklong surge in enforcement has taken more than 60 firearms off Baltimore’s streets, marking a major push by police to stem the city’s persistent tide of gun violence and illegal weapons.

According to the Baltimore Police Department, the seizures came from arrests and investigations conducted citywide over the past seven days. The effort adds to an ongoing campaign that has now removed more than 1,960 firearms from circulation since the start of the year.
