Former Indian cricket chief selector Dilip Vengsarkar has raised questions over the criteria used to select Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharmafor the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, starting October 19. The two senior batters were named in the Shubman Gill-led squad on Saturday, marking their return to international action since the IPL 2025.

In a recent interaction, Vengsarkar questioned how the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee decided to pick Kohli and Rohit, considering they have been away from international cricket since the Champions Trophy in March.
