PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Temperatures may bump over 10 degrees above-average today as strong sunshine and breezy easterly winds remain in place.
Sunny skies will help warm temperatures in the Willamette Valley into the upper-70s to about 80 degrees Tuesday afternoon. No records are expected to be broken, but forecast highs sit well above the average of 68 degrees for this day in October.
Gusty winds could reach almost 30 mph during the mid-morning hours. Winds will start to slow later in the day.
Rain chances will return to the region late in the weekend. Scattered showers that could be heavy at times are likely across the Pacific Northwest as a low pressure system dives south. This comes as Portland's rain deficit continues to grow this month.
