Rakesh Ehagaban-Patel, an Indian-origin motel owner in Pittsburgh, US, was shot dead at point-blank range on Friday afternoon after stepping outside to check on the commotion. Now, video footage of the final moments has surfaced online. The 51-year-old was fatally shot at point-blank range after the attacker, Stanley Eugene West, approached him. Patel asked West, who had just shot a woman, if he was alright.

West, a motel guest with a woman and child, fled after the attack. He was later arrested.

Patel, 51, originally from Rayam village near Bardoli in Gujarat's Surat district, was shot dead outside the Pittsburgh Motel in Robinson Township on Friday afternoon. Rakesh was responding to a disturbance when he stepped out of the motel to investigate.
