A Detroit resident accused of attacking another man with a machete last month on the city's southwest side has been charged.
Antonio Jose Cancel, 43, was arraigned Sept. 30 in 36th District Court in Detroit, the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office said.
He is charged with assault with intent to murder, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, tampering with evidence, and felonious assault, according to authorities.
A judge lowered his bond from $500,000 to $100,000 in a hearing Thursday, the office and court records said. If he posts bond, the court ordered that he must wear a GPS tether and remain under house arrest.
Cancel's next court hearing, a probable cause conference, is scheduled for Thursday, the prosecutor's office said.
