Terence Sears, husband to Virginia Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears, told a crowd in Stanardsville last week that should his wife be elected governor she will be a panacea against the spreading liberalism afflicting so many of its neighbors.
“We need to get away from DEI and CRT,” Sears told a crowd outside the Greene County Courthouse last Wednesday, referring to diversity, equity and inclusion practices and critical race theory — two hot conservative buzzwords. Sears said his wife would “get back to the three R’s and civics classes in school,” referring to reading, writing and arithmetic.
Earle-Sears, the Republican nominee for governor, is hoping to succeed her boss Gov. Glenn Youngkin after he leaves office next January.
