CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - Dozens of people gathered outside of the ICE office on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids Tuesday morning with two things in mind.

First, to act as what protestors call protective accompaniment as immigrants go to check-ins with Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as ICE.

Second, they brought attention to fencing put up around the facility which they say is on the public lawn outside of their facility on Square D Drive Southwest.

Escucha Mi Voz has been talking with the City of Cedar Rapids over areas outside of the facility that would fall under city jurisdiction.

On Tuesday signs were posted outside of the facility by ICE talking about the property being leased to them.

The group will also attend the City Council Meeting on Tuesday to address
