Tropical Storm Jerry formed over the Atlantic on Tuesday and was expected to become a hurricane in a day or two, forecasters said.
Jerry was about 1,315 miles east-southeast of the Northern Leeward Islands with maximum sustained winds of 45 mph as it was moving west at 24 mph, according to the latest advisory from the National Hurricane Center in Miami.
The storm was expected to steadily strengthen and become a hurricane in a day or two, the NHC said.
Jerry was also expected to turn to the west-northwest and the core of the system is expected to be near or to the north of the Northern Leeward Islands late Thursday and Friday.
There were no coastal watches or warnings in effect.
Jerry is the 10th named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season.
