The City of Scottsdale remained on budget in fiscal year 2024-25, but the actual revenues and expenses were very close to what was budgeted, leaving little room for error, according to a report to city council Sept. 30 given by Budget Department director Scott Sellin.

The final report on last year’s budget will be given to council in January, but a preliminary analysis showed general fund revenue of $454.5 million. That is about 3% above what was anticipated.

It’s also a decrease of about 1% from the previous year’s budget.

In the meantime, expenses came in at $377.4 million last year. That is about 2% under budget.

City Councilman Barry Graham was not pleased with the fact that sales tax revenue was about 8% higher than expected.
