A woman asked a police officer “am I gonna die?" after being stabbed 18 times by her boyfriend in a brutal assault at her home, a UK court has heard.

Rebekah Campbell, 32, was found fatally injured outside her flat in Huyton, Merseyside, on the night of April 15 this year. She died in the early hours of the following day.

Michael Ormandy, 34, is now on trial at Liverpool Crown Court accused of her murder. He denies the charge, claiming he acted in self-defence, Daily Mail reported.

During the prosecution’s opening on Monday, the jury was told that Rebekah had been on a phone call with a friend when the attack began. She was described as shouting “I’ve been stabbed" before collapsing outside her flat. Neighbours rushed to help, and she told them, “My fella stabbed me."
