CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - The victim of the deadly shooting on Dayton Street in Chicopee last month has been identified.

The Hampden District Attorney's Office states that on September 23rd at approximately 2:22 p.m., WESTCOMM Regional Dispatch received a call reporting a shooting at 26 Dayton Street. When Chicopee police officers arrived, they found a man lying in the driveway with an apparent gunshot to the abdomen. The man was taken to Baystate Medical Center, where he later died.

On Tuesday, the DA's Office released the identity of the victim, 59-year-old Ronald J. Kogut of Chicopee.

The suspect and the vehicle they drove off in were quickly identified, and a broadcast was put out to the surrounding towns to be on the lookout. At 4:12 p.m., the vehicle in question was reported to be
