In a remarkable breakthrough, the Wanawadi Police in Pune have arrested a rickshaw driver and detained two juveniles involved in a series of night-time robberies targeting passengers. The police recovered 30 stolen mobile phones valued at ₹3,70,200, along with a weapon and a rickshaw used in the crimes.
The arrests were made after constables Atul Gaikwad and Amol Pilane received a tip-off about three individuals attempting to sell a stolen mobile phone near the washing center close to New MHADA Colony, Hadapsar. Acting swiftly under the direction of Assistant Police Inspector Umakant Mahadik, the team conducted a raid and detained the suspects when they tried to flee in their rickshaw (MH12 VB 9420).
