ST. LOUIS — Part of Forest Park Parkway will be closed over the weekend as workers demolish a pedestrian walkway.

A vehicle recently struck a low-clearance pedestrian bridge over the parkway, according to a press release. After an inspection, city officials decided that the bridge had to be demolished.

The pedestrian bridge extends over the MetroLink tracks and the parkway in the northeast corner of the park, near Lindell and Kingshighway boulevards.

Work is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10, and completed by 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 13. During that time, westbound lanes of the parkway will be closed.
