DENVER — The U.S. Supreme Court is set to hear arguments Tuesday in a case challenging Colorado’s ban on conversion therapy for minors.
The state law, passed after five years of debate among lawmakers, prohibits licensed therapists from conducting the controversial practice on LGBTQ youth.
A Colorado counselor filed the lawsuit , claiming the ban violates her free speech rights. But therapists Heather Benton said lifting the restriction could have devastating consequences.
“I am very worried. I don’t know how it will go,” Benton said. “Unfortunately, anything is possible.”
