Tropical Storm Jerry has formed in the Atlantic Ocean, and it's expected to become a hurricane, according to the National Hurricane Center .

As of 11 a.m. Oct. 7, Jerry was located 1,215 miles east, southeast of the Northern Leeward Islands. The storm has maximum sustained winds of 45 mph and is moving west at 24 mph. Tropical storm winds are being felt 140 miles away from the center of the storm.
