PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — An entertainment mogul was among the thousands of people who participated in this year’s Portland Marathon.

Issa Rae, a multihyphenate best known for creating and starring in HBO’s “Insecure,” posted about her experience at the annual event on Sunday.

“Went to Portland to run a marathon,” Rae wrote on Instagram. “To my girl who asked for a picture right after, I'm so sorry. I was very in pain and very ugly. Thank you for understanding.”

She went on to thank a friend for inspiring her to join the race, as well as her husband. According to the post, she ran the 26.2-mile route in just under four hours and 17 minutes — or about 9 minutes and 48 seconds per mile.
