President Donald Trump’s administration warned on Tuesday of no guaranteed back pay for federal workers during a government shutdown , reversing what has been long-standing policy for some 750,000 furloughed employees, according to a memo being circulated by the White House.

The Oregonian/OregonLive reported last week that nearly one third of the 30,000 federal employees who work in Oregon -- or about 9,800 workers -- were expected to stop working during the shutdown. Meanwhile, many federal employees who continue showing up to work will likely not be paid during the shutdown.
