HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Authorities say a motorcyclist was hit by a Harris County deputy Monday night during a chaotic 45-minute chase for a carjacking suspect in Houston.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, a woman called 911 saying she had been carjacked by a man with a gun. That carjacking reportedly happened at about 9 p.m. Monday.

The sheriff's office said deputies were able to track down the suspect and the stolen car near Highway 249 and Antoine. While trying to catch the suspect, investigators say a K-9 deputy ran a red light on Aldine Bender and Hardy and hit a motorcyclist.

Investigators said the deputy had their lights and sirens on. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital and is expected to be OK.
