MADISON (WKOW) — A fire broke out in a town house on Fordem Court on Monday.

The fire was reported at 3:30 p.m., and Madison firefighters arrived on the scene by 3:35 p.m., according to a press release from the Madison Fire Department.

Smoke was seen coming from a second-floor window, according to Engine 3 personnel. Firefighters quickly extinguished the kitchen fire, preventing further damage.

There was smoke damage throughout the residence, but no injuries were reported. The owner was not home during the incident.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
