NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) — A Hartford police officer was arrested and charged with operating under the influence early Sunday morning after he was found asleep at the wheel, according to New Britain city officials.

Brenden Lytton was found stopped at a traffic light in the East Main Street area, officials said. He was additionally charged with interfering with an officer/resisting.

According to Hartford police, Lytton is on modified duty pending the outcome of the investigation.

Lytton was processed and then released on a promise to appear in court, which is scheduled for Oct. 17.
