The Nevada Division of Insurance has a new commissioner.

Ned Gaines, acting commissioner since July 2, was appointed commissioner of the division effective Monday. Kristopher Sanchez, director of the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, announced Gaines' appointment today.

Gaines brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. Gaines joined the Nevada Division of Insurance in April as chief deputy commissioner. Before that, he spent 12 years with the Washington State Office of the Insurance Commissioner in various leadership roles, most recently as deputy commissioner of rates, forms and provider networks.
