A man was accused of driving a stolen vehicle in Gilroy and driving off Highway 101, hitting two people inside a tent, police said on Tuesday.
On Saturday, police say one of their officers located a stolen truck in the area of Murray Avenue and Leavesley Road. When the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the truck sped away southbound Highway 101, according to the police department.
The officer, officials report, attempted to follow the truck but terminated his pursuit due to public safety concerns.
