A routine traffic stop in Picayune led to three felony arrests Monday evening after deputies recovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, according to Major Donnie Saucier.
Around 6:15 p.m., Deputy Malley Bilbo saw a white Chevrolet Tahoe on Grover Barrett Road with occupants not wearing seatbelts. When the deputy attempted a stop, the vehicle accelerated and items were tossed from the windows, Saucier said. The SUV was stopped shortly after on Abbott Street, and three people were detained: Jeffery Howard, 55, Morgan Waters, 31, and Brandon Fischer, 37, all of Picayune.
Deputies recovered a clear bag with a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine and a pouch containing used syringes. All three were arrested and charged with felony possession of a controlled s
