INDIANAPOLIS -- Police have arrested a woman accused of murdering her ex-boyfriend on the east side of Indianapolis last month.

According to court documents, 23-year-old Dasia Jackson has been preliminarily charged with the murder of Ronnie Ameen. He was 24 years old.

Initial investigation

The investigation into Ameen's murder began on Sept. 4 when officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to the 9600 block of E. 37th Place. The initial run was listed as an accident, with the driver still inside the vehicle.

The type of run was later changed after medics soon realized the driver, who was identified as Ameen, had been shot before crashing a gray 2014 Toyota into a central air unit and a tree in the area. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at Eske
