ATLANTA — The Senate remains in a standstill as of Tuesday morning and the government shutdown is entering its seventh day, with a short-term spending bill to kickstart things still out of reach.

The shutdown is expected to start becoming more noticeable for Americans -- including at the nation's airports. Air traffic controllers around the country have begun calling out as they're working without pay.

The Federal Aviation Administration said on Monday night that at least 12 facilities were impacted by staffing shortages, in cities ranging from Chicago to Phoenix to Washington to Denver to Jacksonville.

The most acute situation was seen at Hollywood Burbank Airport in Southern California, which mostly operates regional flights but does include direct Delta routes to and from Atlanta. Th
