INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana State Police detectives arrested an Indianapolis man for his alleged role in an interstate shooting on the city's south side.

The incident was reported along westbound Interstate 465, near East Street, shortly before 8 a.m. Sept. 29.

According to a preliminary investigation, detectives believe the man who was shot was riding in the same car as the suspect, later identified as 30-year-old Jason Twombly, of Indianapolis.

ISP said Twombly and the victim got out of the car and walked along the side of I-465. According to detectives, Twombly shot the victim while they were outside of the car and then fled the scene.

People driving past saw the victim lying on the side of the road and called 911.
