Hardeeville, S.C. (WSAV) – The Daughters of the American Revolution dedicated a new historical marker and four educational boards in honor of The Battle of Purrysburg.

The unveiling ceremony included descriptions of each board as well as discussed the importance of the marker and keeping history alive in South Carolina.

Members of The Daughters of the American Revolution, a descendant of a participant in The Battle of Purrysburg, the Jasper County 250 Commission, the City of Hardeeville and people with connection to history were all in attendance.

The marker is now available to the public at 55 Millstone Landing Road, corner of Purrysburg Rd. and Church Rd., Hardeeville, SC.
