The Patriots added running back depth Tuesday by signing Jashaun Corbin to their practice squad.

Corbin, 25, most recently played for the Falcons this summer. He’s also spent time with the Giants, Panthers and UFL’s San Antonio Brahmas.

The Patriots needed additional running back depth after Antonio Gibson tore his ACL in Sunday’s 23-20 win over the Bills. Corbin joins fellow running back Terrell Jennings on the Patriots’ practice squad. They also have Rhamondre Stevenson and rookie TreVeyon Henderson on the 53-man roster.

The Patriots released offensive lineman Royce Newman to make room on the practice squad.

Corbin is listed at 5-foot-11, 200 pounds. He was the UFL’s rushing leader and earned All-UFL honors last season after a 97-carry, 514-yard, four-touchdown camp
