KENTWOOD, Mich. (WOOD) — A new plasma donation center has opened in Kentwood.

Octapharma Plasma opened a location at 5225 Eastern Ave. near 52nd Street back in August. On Tuesday, amid International Plasma Awareness Week, it celebrated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

It's the company's ninth location in the state, and second in West Michigan, with another spot located in Kalamazoo.

"It's great to be back and opening a location in this area of the state," Andra Jones, senior director of operations with Octapharma Plasma, told News 8 Tuesday. "This has been a good state for us, so we're always looking for opportunities to come back into a state if we have success."
